A Service That Reflects Their Life

Every person and every family is unique. A celebration of life, memorial, or funeral can create space to remember, share stories, and honour the relationship you had with the person who died.

Chaplain Barbel Wray works with families to create respectful, non-denominational services shaped by their values, traditions, memories, and wishes.

  • Leading in-person and online celebrations of life, memorials, and funeral services
  • Helping choose readings, music, prayers, poems, and personal tributes
  • Inviting family members and friends to participate in meaningful ways
  • Providing piano, organ, keyboard, or vocal music when appropriate
  • Creating a service that honours both the person and the needs of the family

In-person services are available in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, with online services available to families throughout North America.

How the Planning Process Works

You do not need to have every detail figured out before reaching out. Planning begins with a conversation about the person you are remembering and what would feel meaningful to your family.

  • We discuss the type, location, and preferred date of the service.
  • You share important memories, relationships, values, and traditions.
  • Together, we choose readings, music, speakers, and other personal elements.
  • I can assist with the service outline, program bulletin, and coordination.
  • The service can be religious, spiritual, or non-denominational.

Virtual planning meetings and online services are available to families throughout North America. In-person meetings and services are available in the Okanagan Valley by arrangement.

A serene beach scene at sunset or sunrise. The sun is low on the horizon, casting a warm golden glow across the ocean and the sandy shore. Gentle waves are breaking onto the beach, creating white sea foam. The foreground features textured sand with a shallow depth of field, making the grains near the bottom slightly out of focus. A few small silhouettes, likely people swimming, are visible in the distance within the water. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil with a soft color palette of peach, orange, and light blue. Visible lens flares add to the naturalistic and warm aesthetic.
